BEARERS OF THE OATH

Bearers of the Oath
There are lots of words thrown around my chosen career....
Professional
Firemanship
Brotherhood
These may be just words to some people but remember "words mean things." -Aaron Fields
Professional involves caring about your chosen profession.
Firemanship involving improving your skills.
Brotherhood involves taking care of each other.
All of these items occurred in mass quantities at Bearers of the Oath.
I'm not sure how I ended up in Jefferson Georgia, but I'm very happy I did. I met outstanding instructors and driven students. I had conversations with people that blew my mind. World class instructors were dropping knowledge bombs left and right.
"Training is controlled failure"- Justyn Fraize
"Stairways are just elevated hallways"- Jay Hurley
"Data driven and street proven"- Herbie Tyler
I found myself sitting on a tailgate with the Can Man Jason Liska having a wonderful conversation. Catching a ride with the "do your damn job" man himself, Jacob Johnson . Doing VES with Ricky Swales....just burning it up. I spent a day with the National Rescue Consultant gurus and another with FAST Training Solutions. Mind blowing.
I will never be able to repay the courtesy, friendship, and assistance that was freely given to me.
Shane Bentley won't take all the credit but spend five minutes with him and you'll want to do whatever you can to help "spread the good news."
Thank you fellas. It was a time I will not take for granted. I'm flying out with a full heart and a renewed sense of professionalism, firemanship, and brotherhood.
Thanks to Daniel Purcell for the airport rides, awesome pictures, and comic relief.
And fellas....thank Ashley Danielle . My wife handled our world at home so I could be there.
